New Support for OpenID

This site now supports OpenID. We recommend that you transition your old login to an OpenID login. All you need to do is login with an OpenID that has the same email address as your old account. It will prompt you to merge the two accounts. Please Contact the administrator if you have any issues.

StyleBuilder Now Runs on Mono

We've updated StyleBuilder to work on Mono. Mono is a alternate .NET runtime that works on most platforms such as Linux and Mac. To get the application to work in Linux, we needed to update style file format. Also, some small differences between the runtimes required us to slightly modify the tilted box style for Linux/Mac. This style is included with the lastest StyleBuilder download.

Log-in and Cookies

We've updated the site to remember your password for a longer period of time.

Having troubles logging in? I found an issue with the site where you might not be able to login. It turns out that the cookies for this site were corrupted. I went into my browser properties and deleted the cookies for this site to fix the problem.

Also, another updated version of StyleBuilder has been released. This release is mostly a bugfix release.

StyleBuilder 2.3

An updated version of StyleBuilder has been released. This release has improvements to settings, transforms, and the included tilted box icon style.

Also, if you've created your own style or have any suggestions or questions, please contact us and let us know.

StyleBuilder 2.1

We fixed the link for the new version of StyleBuilder that was released. This release has some added features including support for plugins. We will be releasing documentation on how to create a plugin in the future.

We also updated the titled icon style to produce square icons that very closely match all the existing icons on the site.

StyleBuilder 2.0

A new version of StyleBuilder has been released. StyleBuilder 2.0 allows you to easily create tilted box icons from the scans of your dvd covers. The process is actually faster than using Adobe Photoshop.

Thew new version supports saving and loading styles as well as remembering your last style (in case you forget to save). There is also future support for custom transform plugins planned.

We will be releasing more pre-made styles in the future. If you've created your own style, please contact us and let us know.

Submissions and Lost Passwords

We've had reports of icon submissions being made by people other than the original author. Before contributing icons that you did not make, please get permission from the author. If your icons have been submitted by someone else, please contact us so we can resolve.

The recover password feature on this site has been fixed.

Maintenance Completed

The site should now be fully functional. The maintenance included updates to the underlying services that make up the core of the site. The EditIcon, UpdateImage, SubmitIcon, and other services were updated.

There is a known issue with cached images. As all icons are being re-cached, any updates to images may not show up until the caching is finished.

Download Optimizations and Update Service

All original icons (available to contributors) are being compressed for faster download. Since we store all original icons as PNG to retain quality, the compression was setup to be lossless. In other words, the icons will not lose any quality but they should download around 30-40% faster.

A new update service was added that can be used to post updated icons. Updated icons must be posted in PNG format.
